IEC / DATA CENTER POWER CORDS
IEC 60320 is the international standard set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that is used by most countries. The standards sets the specifications for power cords up to 250 volts.

The IEC Standard
We offer a range of connector types that comply with the IEC 60320 standard. Several connector types are available, but the most commonly used ones are C13, C15, and C19.
C13: This connector is widely used for computers, televisions, and other electronic devices found in homes and offices.
C15: The C15 connector is designed for applications that generate significant heat, such as electric kettles and small computer networking closets.
C19: High-amperage equipment like data servers and rack-mounted hardware require a constant and reliable power supply, which the C19 connector provides.

Frequently Asked Question
In total, there are 12 IEC connectors based on shape; they are referred to as Male or Female connectors, depending on which side they are on. As an example, C7 is a female connector, while C8 is a male connector, but both have the same shape connector.
C13 in North America is rated to 15A while most countries in the world use C13 rated at 10A. The difference is because of how agencies test and rate components. In the United States and Canada, C13 connectors follow the UL 498 standard and UL/CSA 60320-1 standard. Most countries outside North America follow the IEC 60320-1 standard and rate C13 at 10A.
